This book is literally falling apart. The binding glue or process used is useless. My book, classmates' books, and my professor's book-are all falling apart.
You have to treat this over sized book as if it were an ancient artifact to prevent the chapters from falling out of the book.
Good luck, hopefully your professor chooses a different book instead of this junk, hard to re-sell when it is all broken apart.

I did not have to have this book for any of my classes; however, I purchased it to serve as a reference. It has excellent descriptive pictures. I like the writing style as well- it is not too verbose and complicated.

I used this book for an undergraduate Anatomy course, it is virtually THE SAME as the 5th edition with the exception of a few (four to be exact) pictures. Do you need the new photos?? No. Why? Because they are shown in other parts of the book anyways.

This book was required for an Anatomy 1 class. I elected to buy it new through Amazon thinking that it would be the same as the package available from the school bookstore. While I saved about $50.00, I did not receive the CD and the atlas that was packaged with the bookstore version; this fact was not clearly stated in the book description. Otherwise, I have no complaints. Oh wait, yes I do - the book weighs a ton and is very unweildy.

This book just plain stinks. It's outrageously overpriced; you can get Gray's or Netter's for about the same. It's oversized, which makes it incredibly difficult to manage on your desk while studying, turing pages is difficult, and it doesn't fit in your bag with your other books. There are many poorly labeled illustrations; a feature is labeled on one image but not another image of the same bone, etc. You will never use this book after the course you buy it for, because it is not a standard anatomy ...
