I found "King Edward VIII" to be the definitive source on the life of the man who became the Duke of Windsor. The book is long, but if you are interested in the man behind the throne, this is the book for you. Ziegler makes a case for why the king ultimately gave up the throne and helps a reader to really understand his life and choices. This book was written in the fashion of a traditional, serious biography but can also be enjoyed by non-scholars such as myself.
