Editorial Review: Gunslinger turned rancher, Race Spencer has little knowledge of chaste women. But he's forced to learn when he rescues Rebecca Morgan, the soul survivor of a church group attacked by a band of outlaws anxious to steal the church's money. When Race interrupts their assault before the money is found, a gun battle ensues. Now Race must keep Rebecca safe from the outlaws who are eager to get their hands on the money no matter what the cost. This rough-hewn hero and beautiful heroine's life experiences are light years apart: innocent Rebecca, sheltered from the world by her religion, and cynical Race, who grew up in a world of prejudice and violence, with his physical size and swift gun as his only protection. But they miraculously find a common ground and learn to love each other, making Cherish an emotional read. Don't miss it. --Lois Faye Dyer

Rating: - A beautiful, tender love story.
Is there a lot of brutal violence in Cherish? Yes. Is there a lot of graphic descriptions of rape and murder? Yes. Is the heroine Rebecca a bible thumping, cheek turning, terrified, clinging young lady? Yes. Is the hero Race, an uneducated half breed? Yes. Is this a good story? YES.
Our hero Race Spencer comes across our heroine Rebecca Anne amid a sea of dead bodies. It's a pretty gory scene but when Race first sees Rebecca, he thinks she's an angel. Immediately drawn to her, he's ... Read More
Rating: - A depressing reading experience.
For me, this book was just too depressing. This poor heroine went from one catastrophic experience to another. And the author didn't even give her time in between to get some kind of mental balance in order to move forward with her life. If even half these things had happened to a real person, she would have been a raving lunatic.
Ms Anderson used very graphic language to describe the carnage associated with the death of everyone on the wagon train. She allowed her heroine to witness ... Read More
Rating: - Excellent: Romance with Substance
This was a great book! I recently read a short story by Catherine Anderson, which prompted me to seek out more of her books. I'm a die-hard historical romance fan, but sometimes the same-old formula does get old. This book was so refreshing because Anderson brings Race's emotions to life brilliantly. She does this with Rebecca's feelings as well, but everyone expects the women in romance novels to be emotional, while the men usually realize they love the heroine because they are overcome with a desire ...
