Editorial Review: Setting: Contemporary Idaho and Oregon Sensuality Rating: 6 Bestselling author Catherine Anderson captivates readers with her tale of a desperate young mother, her newborn son, and the rundown drifter who rescues them one bitterly cold night. Little does Rafe Kendrick suspect that his long-frozen heart will crack wide open when he offers the warmth of his coat to a desperate runaway and her hungry baby. Maggie Stanley has little reason to trust any man, much less Rafe, the drunken cowboy she meets hitching a ride in a boxcar. But when he puts his own life in danger to protect Maggie and her baby, Jaimie, from the lowlifes sharing their railroad car, she's forced to place her battered body and equally battered heart into Rafe's hands for safekeeping. Bound together by circumstance, the two zealously guard their secrets until love permits Rafe to let go of the tragic deaths of his wife and child that sent him running from his former life as a successful rancher. And Rafe's gentle and loving care of Jaimie allows Maggie to see that here is finally a man willing and able to protect her from the harsh realities around every corner. Full of gut-wrenching emotion and plenty of human drama, Catherine Anderson's Baby Love shouldn't be missed. --Alison Trinkle
Desperate and determined, Maggie Stanley grabs her small baby and runs into the snowy Idaho night. In her loneliest, blackest hour, she unexpectedly finds a warmth and comfort she has never known in the tender compassion of a handsome, down-and-out stranger. In Rafe Kendrick, Maggie recognizes a soul wounded like her own—though she knows she must never trust any man ever again. Rafe is more than he seems—an enigmatic man of secrets who could give Maggie the moon, had he not vowed to spend his life alone. But sometimes love's flames can transform a cold world into paradise—and a man who's lost nearly everything, a woman who's forgotten how to dream, and the helpless child who needs them both can become that most wondrous creation: a family.

Rating: - Couldn't put the book down..
Despite what some people might have said, I really liked this book. I was captured and could not put it down. The only complaint that I had was it got a bit tedious with Maggie's hangups...you wanted to scream--just get over it!
I think I'll go check out a boxcar now! :)
Rating: - BORING! BORING! BORING!
This is without a doubt one of the worst books I have ever read. Every character is so one dimensional and the plot is so predictable. The heroine acts like a simple minded five year old and the hero acts like a stereotypical alpha male millionaire railroad bum. I don't understand how this book got such high reviews. To each his own, I guess. I'm very sorry I wasted my time with this one.
Rating: - Hmm....
I'm wondering why this book got such high reviews. I was really excited to get this book through my library, but they didn't carry it, so I went out and bought it, and let me tell you I regret it. I read the Coulter selections which follow BABY LOVE, and I think they exceed this book by a lot.
I have nothing against fictional romance stories I myself I am a number 1 romance fanatic. But this book was just too out there for me. First of all it seemed that everything Maggie needed fell ... Read More
Rating: - Puts life in perspective
WoW! I could not put this book down. I loved it. It is creative, different and extremely entertaining. I read it during an entire flight and never even looked up once. It puts life into true perspective. It will keep you on your toes.
Rating: - Anderson is top notch emotional romance writer
As usual, another wonderful book from Catherine Anderson. She almost never fails to capture me with her fabulous stories. And I'm glad I finally got to read this one. From the Kendrick/Coulter set of books, this was the only one I hadn't read, and it was the first one from the series. So after reading so many books that had Rafe and Maggie as side characters, it was great to finally get to read their story. It was well worth reading.
The story is a dynamic romance/drama with great characters, ... Read More
