Editorial Review: This essential review text is an excellent study and preparatory tool for the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN). More than three thousand questions for practice testing, now completely revised and updated to meet current NCLEX standards, prepare students for even the most challenging exams. Questions are coded for the step of the nursing process, client need, and cognitive level, and tests are followed by a self-evaluation grid so students can target areas for further study. Rationale is provided for correct and incorrect responses so that students understand the thinking behind each question, allowing greater retention. Organized by practice area -- psychiatric/mental health, adult, child and child-bearing family -- the review offers defined and comprehensive coverage. A free practice computer disk provides an additional one hundred questions for Computerized Adaptive Testing (CAT). New in this edition: / Practice questions have all been revised to reflect the National Council of State Boards of Nursing test plan revision / Case studies now include community-based content.
If you're a senior nursing student, you know that it's impossible to practice too much for the NCLEX. So you'll love the new Lippincott's Review, which gives you over 5,000 exam-style questions with answers and rationales in the book, plus another 1,000 on the companion CD-ROM. By the time you can answer them all correctly, the boards will be a snap. --Carolyn Lewis

Rating: - Best NCLEX prep book
I went thru a variety of prep books and courses when getting ready for the NCLEX, and this book is what I ended up using the most. It was helpful because it contains so many challenging questins that are organized by topic, and then there are also general tests in the back for when you want a variety. I passed my NCLEX on the first try in July 2008, and for the whole two weeks before the test this book is all I used to study.
Rating: - The Cd was missing
The seller did not indicate that the CD was not included in the book purchase. I was expecting to get the CD but it was not there. The seller should have stated that the CD was missing.
Rating: - the best book out there.
I am surprised at how this book could have gotten anything less than 5 stars. I have used and purchased a variety of NCLEX review books, both for school and for my own benefit. This is by far the best. The rationales are great - they thoroughly explain why each answer is what it is, except for a few here and there that are relatively obvious.
I also love that it has just the questions, and doesn't have explanation of material before hand. Listen, that's what I have textbooks for, ... Read More
Rating: - Well organized with good questions!
I really like this book, because it organizes the questions not only by subject, but also by disease. I wish I had purchased this book earlier in nursing school. A friend of mine let me borrow her book after I didn't pass the HESI (exit exam) for Nursing School. I must say that after using this book along with Saunders and Hogan, I finally passed HESI.
I'm hoping this book would help me pass the NCLEX, which I hope to take very soon!
Rating: - Great Study Guide for NCLEX and school
I bought this book halfway through nursing school, and I wish I'd bought it sooner. This book is very helpful and broken down into adult med-surg, adult psych, pediatrics, and maternal nursing categories. Then it's broken down further into more specific topics, like certain conditions or disorders. This was great for me because I could review the questions for topics we covered and could skip the ones we didn't. It also comes with a CD with around 500 practice questions with review and test mode. ... Read More
