Editorial Review: Penelope Thornton-McClure manages a Rhode Island bookshop rumored to be haunted. When a bestselling author drops dead signing books, the first clue of foul play comes from the store's full-time ghost-a PI murdered on the very spot more than fifty years ago. Is he a figment of Pen's overactive imagination? Or is the likable, fedora-wearing specter the only hope Pen has to solve the crime?

Rating: - The Ghost and Mrs. McClure
This was a fun, light read that kept me entertained, chuckling, and guessing who-done-it until close to the end. If you like to flirt with the paranormal, enjoy mystery/crime novels (there are a lot of references to other authors in the book), and like a little humor mixed in then you will enjoy this one.
Rating: - An enchanting read
After her husband dies Penelope (Pen to her friends) and her son move to a small down in Rhode Island to help her Aunt Sadie save her book store. Pen has lots of big ideas for the store, including expanding and adding author signings. When one of the most famous authors around decides to kick off his book tour at Buy The Book, Pen and her aunt couldn't be happier. Until the author dies write in the middle of the signing. All of a sudden, Pen starts hearing a voice - the voice of a PI who died 50 ... Read More
Rating: - not worth it

If you still want to read it, check with the library - don't spend money on this one.
Rating: - Couldn't put it down!
I really enjoyed this book. I loved the setting, the characters and especially the inclusion of the paranormal. It has just the right amount of everything necesary to a cozy mystery. I highly recommend it!
Rating: - Cute! About three and a half stars
It was a cute mystery. Although, I had the culprit pegged from very near the beginning, it was still an entertaining read in a light fluffy way. I just couldn't really feel much depth to the characters. There was a lot said about their past and feelings, but it didn't follow through to create a real sense of the character. The interaction between Mrs. McClure and the ghost were amusing, but I think more depth to the ghost would have gone a long way to giving more depth to the entire book. The ... Read More
