My 7yr old son borrowed the first book in this series from the school library and it was the first book he had borrowed that he read all of it and loved it. So I then wanted to hunt them down for him as he is not an avid reader and these books really grabbed his attention. I highly recommend them for any young reader who can just read chapter books as this will boost there reading and interest. Rating:  - My 8-year old son loved them
I bought this set for my 8-year old son. I believe they were a little too easy to read for him because he finished all four in two days (just reading at bedtime). He must have enjoyed them because I would hear him laughing while he was reading.
Rating: - Mecha Monkeys?
My son loves all the Dav Pilkey books. This box set was less expensive than the mall book store. It arrived in a timely manner. He was so excited to receive a package in the mail. Our only concern (and it has nothing to do with Amazon, or the seller) is that the books are cheaply made and the pages fall out after a few read-throughs. But the kids don't mind the tape as long as the pages are in the right order.

My 5-year old daughter loves the Ricky Ricotta books (and so do I); however, the binding on one of the books gave out after two readings. We're left with a handful of loose pages and some Christmas sadness.
Rating: - My son's first self-read chapter books!
My first glance at Ricky Ricotta led me to dismiss these as less-fun items in Dav Pilkey's enormous backlist (he's the author of the humungously fun and kid popular series Captain Underpants, as well as dozens of other titles like Dumb Bunny, Dogzilla, Dragon, etc...) That's not what my kids thought! I was shocked to see my son Ben (age 6) alone on his bed reading Ricky Ricotta all by himself - to himself!
