From the New York Times bestseller Bertrice Small-first in an exhilarating new historical romance series

Adair Radcliffe is only a child when her family perishes in the War of the Roses, so her real father, the womanizing King Edward IV, takes her in, honoring his promise to her mother. Once Adair turns sixteen, the king marries her off without her knowledge-and to her later outrage- in a wedding by proxy. But when tragedy leaves her a widow twice over, Adair realizes that her already tenuous social position has sunk even lower. Now, all she can do is hope that the Scottish laird to whom she is sold will have mercy on her. But little does master or servant suspect that love knows no rank.

Rating: out of 5 stars - A Dangerous Love
Once again Bertirce Small writes a wonderful book. I have read all of her books and enjoyed everyone of them. A dangerous Love was a great book and as usual I get so wrapped up in the story I cannot put it down.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Who is Bertice Small? Really??

I used to be a bit of a fan of 'Ms. Small' when she was writing the Sky O'Malley series. OK, I used to laugh at some of the 2oth century (at that time) made-up names she used for her heroines, and also at her many historical errors, but the writing style, by and large, ran smoothly. Every so often, though, there would be a book where the writing simply jarred. So my question is - how many writers are under the alias Bertrice Small? Because one of the really bad writers has produced A Dangerous ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - An Admirable Herione

If you've never read a Bertrice Small romance, beware! She still writes the lengthy, alpha male-centered, history-filled romances popular in the late 70's, early 80's, not the shorter, sweeter versions common today.

True to Small's formula, Dangerous Love is about a strong-willed woman who has to search for love, and goes through a few men before she finds it. The reader follows Adair through her life as a child at court, to the Countess of Stanton, twice married, to a slave sold to a ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - A bit weak in places but enjoyable.
I hesitated a very long time before finally grabbing this book.

Adair is the daughter of Countess Radcliffe and Edward the Third of england. Her conception makes her an heiress in her own right. Her parents murder when she is six sends her to the english court to be raised with the royal children. at sixteen she goes home to Stanton, the state left to her by the man who raised her and claimed her as his child, the Earl of Radcliffe. Through multiple marriages and trials, we see Adair grow up, ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - Pretty good, but long in places

After second husband dies, her village is attack and Adair finds herself a slave, sold to Conal Bruce the laird of Cleit. Conal is a hard warrior who know little love. But Adair is determined for Conal to face his feelings.
"A Dangerous Love" is the lastest offering by Bertrice Small. While the book was pretty good, the beginning of the book is slow and seem to drag. While "A Dangerous Love" was not ... Read More
