This is a weird book. I generally love Carle, but this was a little strange. My daughter is 2 and she was definitely too young for this book, though she did love the flaps, but for myself, the story is just a little odd. It doesn't flow well. Also, I know a number of people who said it was a scary book, it's not, you have to read all the way to the end to see the giant is make believe the whole time. So at least read it all the way through!

Beautiful illustrations with cutouts and flaps...you can see a peek at what is on other pages, blends into a different object, but when you turn the page...whala...it's something else! This is an older preschooler book, probably won't appeal or be appropriate for 1 or 2 year olds.
