Susan Mallery is imo, a master literary talent. And from the moment she cast her line in the water with the debut of The Sparkling One, featuring Katie Marcelli, I have been completely hooked by this Italian/Irish blended family. They can be domineering and annoying, but at the end of the day, they prove that home is where the heart is. Rating: - first time reader of Susan Mallery
I reallly enjoyed finding this book as now I am looking forward to reading several more written by Ms. Mallery. The characterization was fascinating and I often felt like I was in the kitchen of the winery with the Italian grandmothers and the other cast of characters. The heroine was sympathetic and not an idiot (another big plus); the hero was incredibly stubborn but beginning to thaw; and the scenery and love and mayhem all added to a most enjoyable read. Mia was the only one I found trying.

I started reading this book this morning and finished it this evening. I couldn't put it down. I have not read any of the other books in this series, but plan too. The sneak peak at Mia's story in the back sound very good. I know that reading this one first gave away a lot, but I think going back and reading the others will fill in a lot of blanks for.

The Marcelli Bride by Susan Mallery is Joe's story. Joe (ex-Navl SEAL)is ordered home to the Marcelli home to protect the President's daughter. The whole Marcelli gang is back and opens their hearts to Darcy Jensen the President's daughter after she was kidnapped. This is my favoriate of the series so far - everyone is back with all the heart of the soul of the Marcelli Family - plus some danger and mystery.
