Rating: - 3.5 stars, rounded to 3 for Amazon. This book did not have any surprise or delight factor, but it was a nice read.
I found it easy to put down to do other things, but that doesn't make it bad. There were good characters, good plot, typical regency romance novel. It was about a soldier with post traumatic stress syndrome. The heroine soothed his stress. Of course they didn't call it PTSS back then. There was a bad guy after the heroine.
Sexual language: moderate. Number of sex scenes: four. Setting: 1814 London. Copyright: 2002. Genre: regency romance.

Rating: - The best in knight series
I really really loved this book. What I liked so much was Damien's tortured past darkness that had befallen him, which made Miranda, being a very strong female figure the perfect match for him. As for the ward/guardian relationship that other reviewers wrote as unappealing, I din't find it offensive at all. After all, it only served as a reason for them to meet and get the story going. It's not as if he was there to check her grades from school and spank her if she doesn't behave well. THAT would ... Read More
Rating: - Tortured War Hero..Ahh!
The third installment of the Knight Miscellany brings us Damien "Demon" Knight and his ward Miranda. I have to say that while this was a definite page turner and a very engaging read, it was not quite up to par with the first 2 books in this series.
In Lord of Fire, we were introduced to Damien, and I have to admit that I wrongly pegged him as "boring". He was so good, decent, and heroic that I was not that excited to hear his story until the last part of the book when it became obvious ... Read More

It was a wonderful book. I would recommand it to any reader interested in historical romances.
Rating: - Thoroughly enjoyed it!
I just finished reading Lord of Ice (read Lord of Fire yesterday), and I have to say I enjoyed Damien's story much more than Lucien's. I "connected" with Damien and Miranda, and thought their story was a great deal more poignant than Lucien's. His vulnerability (a hero prerequisite in a Gaelen Foley novel) is -- in my opinion -- much more believable than Lucien's -- there's nothing more sexy than a man who blushes shyly in front of the woman he loves. Miranda was a strong match for him; after she vows ... Read More
