Editorial Review: In Amazing Gracie, Hotelier Gracie MacDougal leaves her high stress life far behind when she moves to Seagull Point, Virginia for the summer. Hold up in a picturesque cottage, Gracie learns to appreciate the slow pace of Seagull Point. But her "on the go" attitude comes calling one day, and Gracie can't ignore it. The perfect project presents itself in the form of an old Victorian home. Gracie is sure that with a little TLC the home would make a lovely B&B, but the owner of the home, attorney Kevin Patrick Daniels, isn't so sure. Kevin won't budge, and Gracie won't let up. When tempers flare, so does the passion, and Gracie and Kevin find there's much more than just a house at stake. Will the two gamble on love despite their fears? Find out in this wonderful contemporary that critics call "a 24-karat-gold reading experience."

Rating: - Chemistry and cliches abound
After a disagreement with her boss over how the luxury hotel should be managed, Gracie impulsively returns to the US to relax in Seagull Point Virginia. Being a high strung career gal, she soon looks for a project to keep her busy and falls in love with a Victorian mansion she wants to turn into a B&B. But first she has to get by the caretaker, Kevin, who would rather lie in a hammock then listen to her proposal. But opposites attract and Gracie is willing to do anything to get her hands (and hammer) ... Read More
Rating: - I May Read it Again!
Seagull Point reminds me of a small, rural town along the Potomac River in Virginia, one I visit frequently. More importantly, the character development and story line are super. This is a story for now--young, professional men and women seeking alternatives and purpose beyond their ongoing professional pursuits. It's a fast read that is captivating.

Delightful. The setting reminds me of a small, rural town along the Potomac River in Virginia, one I visit frequently. More importantly, the character development and story line are super. This is a story for now--professional men and women seeking alternatives and purpose beyond their ongoing professional pursuits. Ms. Woods uses her words judiciously; it is a fast read that is captivating.
Rating: - Delightful
The story is delightful. The author's characterizations, fast paced style and underplayed sexual encounters capture the essence of desire, without belaboring the point. Fun stuff.
Rating: - Did anyone edit this book??
I stumbled upon this at the library, and after reading it, I could see why it's out of print. The story engaged me enough for awhile, but then it was as if the author put it down, and returned to it YEARS later. Throughout 2/3 of the book, Kevin's niece was a ten year-old child. Then, out of nowhere, Woods writes "the teen ran after Gracie" referring to the same niece! And, at first I thought it was just a typo...but, alas, the "teen" took on an entirely different (consciously adolescent) way of speaking. ... Read More
