Years ago I went to work for a residential treatment center for adolescent girls. Unfortunately well over 90% of the residents had been sexually abused and my graduate school training had only provided me the very rudiments of working with that issue. That was before the days of the internet and Amazon.com but I got lucky and found this book. It allowed me to be a more skilled and knowledgeable practitioner.

This book was the most detailed book I've ever seen on trauma. I had spent 20 years in cults and have been affected from various forms of abuse and manipulation. It doesn't matter what form the trauma took. In my case I had complex PTSD, but this is a great book that describes the things necessary for recovery. I am not sure if I missed the point here. This book was recommended by a Psychiatrist to help me understand P.T.S.D. I really did not learn anything I did not know.
