Rating: out of 5 stars - Need a Basic Cookbook? Right Here!
This is a very good general cooking cookbook. It is well organized with sections on the usual chicken, pork and beef, but includes tabs for grilling, pasta and sauce, quick breads and even lower calories. There is even an easy-to-reference listing of ingredient substitutions on the back inside cover as well as cooking times for various things in well-located places. Lots of updated recipes, plenty of currently popular ones such as chimichangas.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Good recipes, binding is terrible
Worth the money, but don't expect much from the physical book itself. What a pain to deal with. Poor craftmanship for sure.

Good recipes, some are great.

Handy reference in kitchen.

I have many cookbooks, I regularly turn to this one for ideas and inspiration.

Thank you Taste of Home for a good recipe collection.

Shame on you Taste of Home for valuing your earnings over customer satisfaction.

Rating: out of 5 stars - I'd give it a five if the binding behaved itself
These cookbooks are all comfortable and easy to have around. It's real people food for those times you could care less about carbs, calories, etc. The food has all been cook tested and family approved, and what's not to like? Other than the binding which is stiff and annoying this is an excellent book for beginners and experienced cooks. It's really nice to flip this open and find many recipes that you already know you will like. It's also a good reference book and a handy treatise on contemporary ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - Okay, but Recipes aren't as Tasty as you'd expect
The book itself is well laid-out with helpful charts, simple categories, and lots of pictures. However, I've picked several recipes to cook and I've always been a bit disappointed with the outcome because the recipe always seemed to be missing something that would have made it spectacular. I know that the Taste of Home magazine has always prided itself on testing each recipe, but I think they may have lowered their standards a bit in order to fill a full-size cookbook.

Rating: out of 5 stars - My Go-To Book!
This is my Go-To cook book. The recipes are tried and true. I recommend giving this to anyone who has a kitchen and cooks. It teaches you the basics about different foods and cooking methods. It's great!
