This book was suggested by a local realtor in Mexico. I found it to be very helpful in many respects. Some of the info was a little outdated, but in all fairness would be impossible to keep up with items like which restaurants are still open. Overall, it's a great reference book that I will keep and use repeatedly. The author obviously did much research which included very useful information on a wide variety of topics. if you are living in or planing on visiting the Lake Chapala area. We recently moved to Lakeside, and the pages are dog-eared already. Sometimes I almost feel like Ms. Kendrick is reading my mind. I think, "I wonder where to get..." or "Is there a place nearby to..." and it is in the book. It is an impressive combination of Guide Book for what to see and do, and Directory to were to find what.

If one is planning a move to the Ajijic/Lakeside area this book provides an excellent amount of information. To me this not so much a travel guide but a reference book that would be of use to someone who has moved to the area. Lots of practical information on contractors, doctors, transportation, etc. The book also details differences and difficulties in everyday activities such as paying bills and making appointments.

I found the Insider's Guide to be just that - insider info. Well researched and very well presented. Easy to locate just what I need when I need it. An invaluable resource for moving to the Lakeside. It has alrady saved me alot of time and running around. I expect it to continue to be most useful when I live there ! Highly recommend for anyone intersted in visitng or moving to this magical place.
