I recently purchased this DVD. There is no warning that it comes only with German soundtrack. Unless you are fluent in German do not buy this.You will be disappointed and will have wasted your money

I remember reading about this in LIFE magazine in 1940.
In the film Delves Broughton is clearly guilty although he is acquitted. In 2007 the truth came out that he was, in fact, the murderer.
The film is an accurate picture of the detached life in wartime of the people of Happy Valley in Kenya with riches, no responsibilities and believing their only path was decadence.
The film has to be seen to be believed!

Interesting and easy read - Fox has done his research well. My late husband's parents were Kenya settlers and his father had NO respect for the Happy Valley crowd AT ALL. Fox has certainly filled in many of the gaps left in the story my husband, Len Gill told me and has introduced me to a new side of some of the characters Len knew. I only wish I had read this book before my husband died of cancer. So many questions - so little time for answers.
