Editorial Review: If familiarity breeds content, then the two stories that make up this video will deliver to the young fans of Babar, the boy elephant king. "Monkey Business," a complicated tale involving well-known characters from the classic Babar books--especially Uncle Zephir the monkey and Retaxas the rhino--could have been called "The Monkey Who Cried Wolf." In the second adventure, "Race to the Moon," the quick-paced cartoon-style action is easier to follow and a whole lot sillier as the elephants and rhinos engage in a doomed race to the moon in endearingly goofy-looking rocket ships. In both stories, it's no surprise that Babar's quick thinking saves the day, but not without a soft-pedaled lesson in what really matters in life. The importance of truth and friendship are slipped in to the plots. Jean de Brunhoff, the author of the series of books first published in French, would approve. --Valerie J. Nelson
