Editorial Review:2009 holiday reissue. Percy Faith joined Columbia Records in 1950 and became orchestra leader and conductor for many of the label's stars, including Tony Bennett, Doris Day, Rosemary Clooney and many others. He also made many recordings under his own name, including this Christmas album that was originally released in 1954 and hit #10 on the album charts. 12 tracks. Pickwick.

This CD of Christmas classics is perfect! We had a similar collection on LP growing up so was thrilled to find this on CD. Definitely brings back memories!

The Percy Faith Music of Christmas is just that, the greatest of its kind ever done. I bought the original LP when it first came out in the mid 50s, and still have the vinyl, although it is now retired due to age. I later bought the album on cassette and 8-track and then cd. Growing up, my parents didn't have a lot of money so our Christmas music was recorded live from the radio onto a Wallensack Reel-to-Reel tape. Some of the sound quality was really poor but by gosh we loved that Christmas tape and I have spent the better part of the last 25 years trying to find the original ... Read More

I love Percy Faith's "Music Of Christmas" and long for a proper remastered version. So I occasionally buy imports in the vain hope that someone overseas has done what Columbia won't do domestically. Unfortunately, this British import was clearly lifted from someone's vinyl - with a few snaps, crackles and pops - and one near-skip. Oddly enough, it may have a better dynamic range than the current American version. Go figure.

I have yet to find a better CD of traditional Christmas music. It is absolutely beautiful all the way through.
