Rating: out of 5 stars - why we gave this guy the spotlight
Crazy from the Heat is one awesome extended play CD. Yeah, there are only four songs by David Lee Roth on this album--but what a terrific four songs you get! David never sounded better--he's at his best here singing about his love for women, living life as a gigolo and worshiping girls who just happen to live in California.

The CD starts with David performing wonderfully on "Easy Street." The piano arrangement is great and when David comes in this tune takes off like a jet! The percussion ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - Cool
Song for song (yes I know it's only 4 songs) this is probably Dave's best solo album. He proves he can sing pretty near anything you put in front of him. Of the bunch though, Coconut Grove is probably my favorite. Dave doing mellow is good. This is a very underrated album.

Rating: out of 5 stars - I'M JUST A GIGOLO BABY!!
You know music is made to enjoy not to fight over.
Can we act older than 3 year olds.
If you don't like it cool, if you do like it cool.
Remember what people write in these reviews are opions.
If you are going to make such a big deal about something,
get on the world peace thing.
I would say it's worth buying!!
I rate this album a 9 from 1to10!!

Rating: out of 5 stars - Not Great, But Fun
An EP recording with only 4 songs on it is not usually begging for people to line up and buy it. Finding out that these are pretty much just remakes and covers is also not necessarily the best marketing technique...

Unless you are David Lee Roth. Then you can pull it off. These songs are a fun mix and are good choices to have playing in the background at your party, especially if you're somewhere warm. The other side is that it shows the diversity of Roth's influences and roots. I would ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - David Lee Roth - 'Crazy From The Heat' (Warner Bros.) 3 1/2 stars
Only reason I'm giving this over-priced four track EP as high as rating as I have,is because EVEN after twenty-plus years, these tunes are actually still fun to listen to,believe it or not. I'm one to USUALLY avoid most CD singles,EP's,etc. Keep in mind this is Roth's first post-Van Halen outing. Always have and probably always will dig the videos Roth made for "Just A Gigolo/I Ain't Got Nobody" and his Beach Boy's cover of "California Girls". The other two cuts "Coconut Grove" and "Easy Street" are good summer ... Read More
