I purchased a CD as present for my mother, However when she recieved it ( we live in New Zealand) the CD had a fault ingrained into the CD. Amazon replaced the CD immediately, No Charge. Thank you for great service.

Each generation thinks that we've invented everything from curse words to music to the wheel. It ain't necessarily so.
Les Paul is a living genius and a treasure. All of the people roaming around with their i-pods playing multi-track music don't realize that Les made it all possible.
Les Paul and Mary Ford may not be as well known as the Andrews Sisters or Bing Crosby, but they are of the same era. I think one of the reasons they are not as well known in some circles ... Read More

This collection, which came out in 1990, is typical of early CD releases: 12 selections and either minimal liner notes or none at all. In this instance, however, there is a single page of text on the reverse of the cover photo providing some interesting background.
A much better bet is "The Best Of The Capitol Masters" as it contains all the same selections save one, plus eight more. Here, however, you do get the wonderful and hard-to-find Mary Ford interpretation of Smoke Rings which ... Read More

Les Paul & Mary Ford's "All-Time Greatest Hits" probably does not do justice to all the wonderful songs they recorded in their career. The special sound created by this magical duo had a major influence on music, and the works contained in this album are representative of these efforts. The quality of re-mastering has brought forth a work of wonderful proportions, immersing the listener in that world of double and triple over-recording that thrilled music fans of the era, and which still endures.
