Editorial Review:
Small enough to fit in your palm, yet powerful enough to receive AM/FM and six shortwave bands, the Grundig Mini 100PE is the perfect way to travel with the world in your hand. Weighing in at less than five ounces, it makes the perfect radio companion.
Design and Controls
The Mini 100PE is designed for simplicity and ease of use. The left side of the radio houses a telescoping FM and shortwave antenna for receiving distant broadcasts. A band selection switch resides beside the classic analog tuning dial, which features a needle-scale indicator. A small speaker produces pleasing sound, or you can hook up a pair of stereo earbuds (included) for FM-stereo listening. Meanwhile, tuning and volume control are handled by controls on the side of the device.
Tuning and Bands
Thanks to the Mini 100PE's reception of AM, FM, and six shortwave bands, you can use the analog tuner to tune into your favorite local stations, as well as far-flung international broadcasts from around the world. The shortwave receiver operates on the following bands: 49, 41, 31, 25, 19 and 16 meters. In addition to the telescoping FM and shortwave antenna, the unit contains an internal ferrite bar antenna for AM reception.
Connections and Power
The Mini 100PE operates on two "AA" batteries. A 3.5 millimeter headset jack is provided.
Extras
The radio ships with a handsome protective carrying case, batteries, and a pair of earbud headphones.
What's in the Box
Mini 100PE radio, earphones, belt clip, protective pouch, and user's manual.
Travelwith the world in your pocket. Another exciting breakthrough in world band technology. A well-built radio that fits in the palm of your hand. AM/FM-Stereo/SW radio with LED indicator, six shortwave broadcast bands, telescopic antenna, earphones and belt clip make listening easy.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Nice radio for the price
I purchased one of these radios to listen to AM talk radio while commuting. The AM reception is 'good' but not great. It takes some getting used to the backwards tuning dial which goes high to low which is the opposite of most other radios. What I like best about it is that it is very small & sturdy. I believe I have had the same batterys in it for over a year now and have not had to replace them. It does not get heavy use as I said earlier the reception is not what I had hoped but still gets ... Rating: out of 5 stars - grundig not grounded yes
I AM A RADIO BUG,AND MUST TELL YOU THE GRUNDIG M100 IS A NICE LOOKING LITTLE RADIO,IT'S PERFORMANCE IN SHORTWAVE AND IN AM IS VERY BAD, NOW IT SELLS FOR $19.00 AT RADIO SHACK IT IS WASTE OF MONEY,I OWN $9.99 POCKET RADIOS FROM OTHER BRANDS AND THEY OUTPERFORM IT HANDS DOWN,GRUNDIG USED TO BE A VERY GOOD BRAND OF RADIOS I OWN SEVERAL OLD MODELS AND I JUST LOVE THEM,SINCE THEY ARE MADE SOMEWHERE ELSE OTHER THAN GERMANY,QUALITY IS DOWN

Rating: out of 5 stars - A great travel companion
I've had this radio for three years, and it still works great. I use it every day at home and I travel with it. It's not much bigger than the original Ipod + case. If you are an NPR fan, get it. I don't use the short wave. People who gave this radio low marks may be radio snobs who expect a ton out of this tiny little thing. For AM/FM, it's great.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Grundig M100 Portable radio
A great little radio. I used it on my flight from AZ to NH. The FM and AM came in just great. Not sure about the shortwave as I wasn't able to pick up anything. But then again, I didn't really try. I like the small size. Fits in my jacket pocket. A smart looking radio. Price is reasonable.
CON: The ear plugs are useless. Will not stay in the ear.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Handy, Dandy, and Economically "Sound" !
The Grundig Mini 100PE is a surprising little radio. Now, it's certainly not a professional-grade all-encompassing shortwave set, but I doubt anyone would really expect it to be at such a small size and price. It is however, a fun little radio in a pocket sized package. The old-school tuner is somewhat touchy yet still altogether functional. The FM stereo reception is remarkably good when using earbud phones, and the included ones aren't bad. The small speaker sounds, well, like a small speaker, but ... Read More
