The Philips Magnavox MAT965A1 WebTV Classic is ready to get you on the Internet right out of the box. No computer skills or special computer equipment are necessary to use the Internet terminal. It ships complete with connecting cables and a standard remote control, which allows instant access to the Internet or e-mail.
Technically speaking, the Philips Magnavox MAT965A1 has some of the same features as a standard PC. This unit has a 56 Kbps modem, 8 MB RAM, flash ROM, a powerful graphics processor, and a 32 KB cache. RealAudio is installed for great sound. The Philips Magnavox MAT965A1 is outfitted with LineShare technology, which allows incoming calls provided your phone is equipped with call waiting. The MAT965A1 can support up to six e-mail addresses. A flashing light indicates new messages.
Navigating the Internet is easy with one-touch access and an onscreen point-and-click menu "keyboard" you operate via remote control. A manual keyboard can be purchased separately. The parental lock allows you to keep your children out of inappropriate sites and chat rooms. A telephone splitter cable, 6-foot audio-video cable, and 25-foot phone cable are included with the Philips Magnavox MAT965A1. Connect them all and you're ready to surf. A quick-start reference guide is included as well.
The MAT965A1 comes with a one-year warranty on parts and 90 days on labor.

I bought my 75 year old dad one years ago. He has loved it completely.
He doesn't have a computer and doesn't want to learn how to use one.
This is perfect. He can interact fully by email and surf the internet all day long. Perfect product. Works perfect too.

I purchased a Philips Magnavox MAT965A1 WebTV Classic from norvell_md for my mother. I received the item, as advertised, in the original packaging with setup instructions in about a week. While there were other companies selling the same product for less, it was worth paying a few dollars more for a quality experience. I would definitely not hesitate to deal with norvell_md in the future.

If your kids stay on your PC all the time, download wierd stuff, mess with your settings, have TV's in their rooms - then this is GREAT for them! It is nearly impossible to mess up and you can't do a lot of stuff (like download) with it. It is great for general surfing and checking email. Perfect for a child to keep the adult's computer free!
If you are an adult and want to use the internet, buy a PC. This thing will aggravate you to peices.

I've had this product for 3yrs.and for some one who'snot wanting anotebook,or full computer with cputower, this is just the thing to down load the internet. It's simple, easy, and great on the eyes,for those with visual problems, you can have the text set for your particular needs.
