The Ever Passing Moment, Washington homespun punksters MxPx's eighth full-length album, will not disappoint the punk-thirsty faithful and will likely rouse many a fan-to-be from sleep. Showing no sign of letting up, this trio pumps it out with a relentless grind and an effortless finesse, demonstrating that artistic integrity is alive and well in the world of energy rock. The Ever Passing Moment showcases the band's aptitude for producing catchy anthemic choruses and clever rhythmic changeups while surging full force through each song. Vocal styling partially reflects the pop-punk band Green Day, and an honest tone prevails in the emotional moods of these outpourings. Throughout the project, the lyrics paradoxically demonstrate that the most profound things in life are also the simplest. Check out "My Life Story" or "Prove It to the World" to get a taste, but don't wait too long to get this album. At the rate these guys are going, it may soon be dated material. --Israel Button

Rating: out of 5 stars - One Of The Few Pop Punk Releases That Rises Above The Genre
In my high school year I listened to quite a bit of Pop Punk music, most of which I was be ashamed to listened to after I turned 18. The style of music, while peppy and lots of fun doesn't lend itself to quality albums. Slowly, most of my pop punk cd's have disappeared into used cd bins, been passed off on ebay, or traded on Lala. MxPx is one the few bands I've found impossible to part with. Is part of nostalgia? Sure. MxPx have occasionally drifted into fads and trends which have marred their catalog ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - MxPx's catchiest release
This album is really cool because every single song is catchy. Unfortunately it is probably also their poppiest cd as well, which is unfortunate because if they had the same melodies with faster paced music... this album would be amazing. Some of the songs, although catchy, are kind of boring and sound a lot alike the rest on the cd. The best songs are Responsibility, My Life Story, Buildings Tumble, Two Whole Years, Is The Answer In The Question?, Unsaid, Misplaced Memories & The Next Big Thing. If ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - easily one of my fav mxpx albums
I love this album, and all the teenyboppers who were in diapers when mxpx put out their first records need to just shut up b/c you don't know what you're talking about -- for a long time mxpx were considered "the" punk rock band. They rock. They've got something to say. This is a freakin awesome album. I recommend that you get all mxpx's albums and learn something about real punk rock. Also, songs like "My Life Story" and "Responsibility" are fun, but in my opnion, the best songs on this record are ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - awful
this band thinks that they're punk just because they're less known than good charlotte, simple plan, yellowcard, and all the rest. my sister put this cd in my car stereo when she was borrowing my car recently the next time i got in my car i saw the cd and decided since i had never heard of them, to see what they sounded like. they sound exactly like good charlotte. i agree with the reviewer that said to listen to pennywise. they at least understand that punk is an attitude, not a way of dressing. my ... Rating: out of 5 stars - It's not that great
Mxpx were solidly putting out great albums. They were in between an underground and mainstream band for a little while. I mean they're on a major label but their songs dont get played that much on the radio and they don't sell millions of albums. They probably sell almost as much as Nofx, pennywise, no use for a name bands like that. This album is better than the new piece of crap they put out a year ago but man not by much, this is actually going away from their punk roots and into more just straight up ... Read More
