The unit easily attaches to your iPAQ Pocket PC to create an expansion slot. You can plug in a variety of devices such as storage cards, LAN connections, modems, and bar code scanners developed by other manufacturers. This expansion pack transforms your iPAQ Pocket PC into several devices in an easy, streamlined, and convenient manner.
With a CF Card Expansion Pack, you can purchase cards that will let you increase the file storage space on your iPAQ Pocket PC, access your company's network (LAN) for e-mail and Web browsing using a CF Card or standard network cable with card adapter, access your Internet account through a regular phone line using a 56K modem. - the IPAQ is worthless without this
I recommend buying this and an IBM microdrive to really get the most out of your iPaq. You can then listen to hours of music or even watch movies!
Almost every plugin for the iPaq uses the CF2 standard, so unless you just want a simple PDA, buy this. Of course you don't, otherwise you would have bought a Palm, right?

I have used several different brands of Compact Flash memory cards on this device without any problems. This jacket does not make your iPaq any significantly bigger than an iPaq with the Style Pack attached. In fact, I find my iPaq with attached CF Expansion Pack more comfortable to hold than a bare iPaq.

CF cards don't really impact battery life any more than using the regular memory of the iPAQ. That's because they don't have any moving parts to put extra stress on the battery.

Does anyone know what difference the CF adaptor, and addon memory card make to the battery life of the unit.
Just got two IPAQ's one for the wife, and one for me, we need to get more CF storage, but cannot find any details on battery life ramifications.

I was a bit skeptical in buying this, as many people complainedthat it would add bulk and reduce battery life, but for [the cost], Ithought it would be worth it. It was.
