Rating: - Good game but requires compatibility mode for XP
This is a good game and the graphics are pretty good. In order to run this game on Windows XP Home Edition, you will need to run this in Windows Compatibility Mode (I got this to run in Windows 2000 compatibility mode). Trying to run this game Windows XP results in a "Lock-up" of the PC. The Windows 95/98 gave an enumeration error and Windows NT 4.0 wouldn't run at all. Madden NFL 2001 may not be perfect, but no sports game is. The graphics are as superb as everyone says and the gameplay is excellent. There is something here for everyone. If you want to run your own team over time, the franchise mode includes all the elements including a salary cap. At the same time, people looking for an arcade style football game can simply pick two teams and play against each other. There are many of the great teams from history, every football stadium in the league, etc.

Madden 2001 is the funnest game ever. If you use creativity, like creating your own NFL bowl then you can't stand to wait if your Playstation 2 time is up. Get this game to have extraordinary fun. Sometimes, you can watch a friend play and think that you are watching a real football game. Everyone can play, little kids to adults. This game is the #1.
