Rating: out of 5 stars - Spectacular Work of Art
I recently read a new book on Sustainable Development Sustainable Development Possible with Creative System Engineering and it referenced this Album (sorry CD). I haven't heard it in a while and I put in the CD. Oh my God! It is as great today as the first time I heard it 1978. I know why the author referenced this work in the book. I get goose pimples just writing this review.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Great Music... Incredible vocal work... A must-have!
End of the 70s, I was still involved in the magic of the early Yes, E.L.P., Queen, discovered Journey with Steve Perry, wondering what would Genesis be without Peter Gabriel, starting to dig in Punk Rock, wondering if that weird Disco fever would kill 'serious' Rock music... Then I had the chance to listen Renaissance for the first time and discovered that female voices could be able to perform Prog-Rock with lots of stamina!

Rating: out of 5 stars - Successful Progressive Rock
Due to extremely limited airplay in my town of this band, I didn't know about them until a friend turned me onto them in the early to mid 80's. When I heard Ashes Are Burning it immediately became my favorite song of all time and this group was the greatest thing in music to me. I've been backtracking ever since to collect all of their music. They have albums that are masterpieces, albums that are good and one album that is not much to speak of (Timeline.) This album seems to be the end of orchestration ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - An enduring favorite
I've owned this album on vynil, tape and CD. I can't imagine being without Annie Haslam's wonderful voice and a set of songs which are instantly appealing yet blend together to form a perfect album. 'Northern Lights' and 'Closer Than Yesterday' are exceptional. I'm not really interested in whether this is a radical departure from their earlier albums, as mentioned by some reviewers. This one will always have a place on my music system.

Rating: out of 5 stars - The best of the best!
I have bought every Renaissance album within a week of its original release on vinyl. When they became available on CD, I promptly bought them all on CD. As a musician and extreme, die hard Renaissance fan since the early '70s I can tell you that "Song for All Seasons" has consistently been my favorite album of theirs throughout the decades. The orchestrations are phenominal and the music is outstanding. Of course, not to take anything away from their previous albums which are also outstanding, I would ... Read More
