I thought this was a good video, but limited in it's usefulness. My daughter is only 9, and I figured this would be perfect for her, but it was so brief, and was over so quickly without going into so many other details of horse life that we were both disappointed. I wish it was indicated somewhere that the video is only half an hour long. So yes, it's good, but just not what I had expected. If you go buy it, knowing that, it's different and your expectations aren't as high.

In a society where growing young minds are routinely exposed to mind numbing rubbish thinly disguised as entertainment, it was a pleasure to view a work from a promising young producer aimed at nourishing the brain as opposed to sedating it. Inspiring and heartfelt, a Young American Rider is the first of what I hope will be a series of productions from Doodlebug Inc.

I loved this video for a number of reasons. 11 year old Addison Phillips narrates the tape and speaks TO my children and not AT them. She obviously is a formidable opponent yet still comes off as sensitive and likeable. We all enjoyed the sequences with the ferier and vet and loved the build up to her competition in a horse show. I produced this video initially becuase my daughter became fascinated with horses and wanted to learn more about what it is like to be a young competitive rider. I was, and still am, very impressed with the professional and courteous way in which Addison Phillips - the subject of this tape - conducted herself both on camera and off.
