So I purchased a handheld CB for emergency purposes, and I also purchased this antenna. I must say, this antenna is amazing in quality and range. It allowed me to talk to trucks from my university campus all the way across the river, out to US-22 where the Lehigh Valley mall is. That is some incredible range considering it is hilly with lots of large metal buildings around.

I bought this antenna from Amazon since I had a bad experience with a cheaper CB antenna. It's been a couple of months since I bought my Midland CB radio and I couldn't get any signal. This antenna is great. The rubber at the magnetic mount is gentle to your car's roof and other surfaces. The BIG problem was the packaging. I bought this antenna using a courier service, and Amazon decided to package the tightly and flexibly packaged antenna in a HUGE box with more than 70% free space filled with paper. ... Read More
Rating:  - Good basic antenna with good reception and no need for grounding
I installed this with a Uniden 538 pro and it works very well. The only thing I don't like is that it's not encased in plastic like the fiberglass whips are, so when it's raining or icy my guess is that the antenna has the potential to create a circuit with the body of my car. Just speculation at this point though - overall I'm happy for the price.
NOTE: AMAZON BENT THIS ANTENNA TO FIT IN THE BOX. I had to spend about an hour getting back to straight, and still it's bent a bit. Scum bags.

I clearly ordered an HG A1500 Cobra CB Antenna and I received an HG A1000 Cobra CB Antenna. One of the other reviews shows the same thing happened to them. Before you order from Amazon you better check if you can get it at a local store first so you know what you're getting.
