Unprecedented speed is now available over your existing network cabling! Built to run the fastest video, publishing, and database network applications, the Instant Gigabit Network Adapter is a high performance network adapter for PCI local bus computers. Boasting an incredible maximum data throughput of 2000 megabits-per-second in full duplex mode, it includes a 10BaseT/100BaseTX/1000BaseTX port, which means that you can begin integrating Gigabit now - even if you don't plan on upgrading to a 1000Mbps network right away. The Instant Gigabit Network Adapter is Windows Plug-and-Play compatible. The card also runs on most operating systems, including Windows 2000. Wake-On-LAN support is built in - you can wake up your workstations from anywhere on the network! Built-in support for the widest range of PCI motherboards, networking hardware, and software means you don't have to worry about compatibility.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Performs with Speed
As the description says, this network adapter flies when surfing the net. Easy to install and fits nicely into my box. A

Rating: out of 5 stars - Be aware of ethernet cable issues.
Be aware of ethernet cable issues. Even though the Cat5e spec is for cables up to 300 meters long, you may have issues with a much shorter cable, depending on factors such as the quality of the cable, the connections, bends in the cable, etc. I experienced data loss with a 90 foot cable.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Excellent Product & Value
I needed more speed on my network. I run a home based business and have 8 computers on the network. The computers could handle a large amount of data quickly. The standard speed switches I had could only operate at 10/100. I looked into and purchased two Gigabit Switches (16 and 5 ports). I also purchased the corresponding network adapter cards (that's a no brainer). It was one of the best technology investments I made in 2006.

Rating: out of 5 stars - NO PROBLEM..
RUN RIGHT OUT OF BOX AFTER INSTALLING DRIVER, BEAT THE LINKSYS
SIMILAR MODEL WHICH CRASHED/HANGUP MY SYSTEM!

Rating: out of 5 stars - Card marked incorrectly
I purchased two cards - one circuit board was marked correctly, the other was marked as a LNE100TX which is only a 100 Mbps card. However, the LED on the card bracket had a label indicating "Gigabit". When I installed the card the driver indicates it is an EG1032 and it links up at 1-Gigabit. Appears that manufacturing mis-marked the cards, although the chip layout is different than my other EG1032. The rub is that tech support will not provide warranty support since they insist it is a 100 Mbps ... Read More
