The library of Little Bear titles is enhanced with Let's Play a Game, a collection of short stories celebrating traditional games still in vogue today. It is no surprise that these animated stories are part of one of Nick Jr.'s most popular preschool programs, based on the books by Else Holmelund Minarik and illustrated by Maurice Sendak. Sweet and simple, Little Bear observes the antics of a young cub and his friends as they experience what Sendak calls the necessities of childhood: imaginative play, endearing mishaps, simple pleasures, and parental love. The four vignettes in this 30-minute program focus on outdoor games requiring no electronics and few props. Viewers are introduced to Simon Says, I Spy, sandlot baseball, and marbles, while learning how to take turns, play fair, and exhibit good sportsmanship.
