Rating: out of 5 stars - First duets I ever heard and still some of the best
Marvin and Tammi sing like they were born to sing together. When I was younger and more romantic, I used to hate to hear him sing by himself.

This is everything that Marvin and Tammi recorded in one two CD package. I wish there was some record of their live performances and I also wish there was some video here. Otherwise, very well done.

Rating: out of 5 stars - why no dvd?
Yes, they are magic together. Yes, they are a bit of the best of American cultural history. Yes, they are geniuses of sound. So why can't we get a dvd of them singing together? Why is it that the best of American music is so hard to get on DVD?

Rating: out of 5 stars - the king and queen of soul duets
marvin gaye was able to work vocally with a variety of women. he was a singing partner that was unequalled by many, save donny hathaway and a few others.

though he had successes with many, he really hit his stride singing with tammi terrell. her bright, crisp treble was the perfect match for everything gaye had to offer from his wild growl to his sweet, shadowy falsetto. my personal favorite tracks 'california soul', 'your precious love', 'i'll never stop loving you' and 'since you've ... My favorite songs are the ones written by Ashford & Simpson, including the ones recorded by Valerie Simpson, although I think Motown's deception was unfair to Marvin, Tammi, Valerie, and the fans who bought the "Easy" album. The only song I don't like is "If This World Were Mine," which was written by Marvin Gaye. It was also GREAT to ... Read More

Rating: out of 5 stars - a very touching recording
this is a very moving album. Motown should re-release Tammi Terrell's solo album "irresistible"
