THe first thing i do when i buy any console is get a Monster S video cable, then i get the games. The thing with monster is its the best, but it cost alot. When first released cables cost $50, but now its reasonable. I think Monster goes over the board with the development of this thing. Just read the product info. Basically if your TV gots svideo hook up, get these.

I bought the 300x cable two days ago. Since then I have been nothing but frustrated -- though my regular AV cable that came with the console still works perfectly, I get NOTHING from the Monster cable -- the ring on the Xbox just blinks green and orange, signifying a bad AV connection. No amount of fiddling has made a difference. On top of this, Monster's customer support was almost nonexistent. Yes these are Monster cables. Yes Monster Cables are better quality than ordinary cables, but the difference between Svideo and Composite is not something to jump for joy about. The differences between Component and Composite is astronomical, and between Svideo is noticeable. If you get these cables, you won't really notice a significant difference in picture quality, (especially if your RCA cables are gold plated and top of the line). I connected my X-Box to my 19inch LCD computer monitor via a ViewSonic VB50HRTV TV tuner using the Microsoft RCA jacks supplied with the X-Box, and the results were pretty poor.
I figured I had wasted my money on the tuner, but a friend convinced me to try an S-Video cable, and customer reviews here on Amazon.com convinced me to try the one from Monster Cable.

When I got my Xbox, i also picked up the Interact Universal S-Video cable, figuring a ten dollar cable is better than Monster's pricier ones. The quality was good, but i was upset to find that I couldnt hook up my Xbox to my surround sound system, because it had no optical output. So, i went back to the store, grabbed the Monsters and the optical adapter, and hooked it all back up. I was astounded.
