Editorial Review: With a reported budget of $172 million, Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines starts in high gear and never slows down. The apocalyptic "Judgment Day" of T2 was never prevented, only postponed: John Connor (Nick Stahl, replacing T2's Edward Furlong), now 22 and disconnected from society, is being pursued yet again, this time by the advanced T-X, a sleek "Terminatrix" (coldly expressionless Kristanna Loken) programmed to stop Connor from becoming the savior of humankind. Originally programmed as an assassin, a disadvantaged T-101 cyborg (Arnold Schwarzenegger, bidding fond farewell to his signature role) arrives from the future to join Connor and his old acquaintance Kate (Claire Danes) in thwarting the T-X's relentless pursuit. The plot presents a logical fulfillment of T2 prophesy, disposing of Connor's mother (Linda Hamilton is sorely missed) while computer-driven machines assume control, launching a nuclear nightmare that Connor must survive. With Breakdown and U-571 serving as worthy rehearsals for this cautionary epic of mass destruction, director Jonathan Mostow wisely avoids any stylistic connection to James Cameron's Terminator classics; instead he's crafted a fun, exciting popcorn thriller, humorous and yet still effectively nihilistic, and comparable to Jurassic Park III in returning the Terminator franchise to its potent B-movie roots. --Jeff Shannon

Rating: - FEMINISTS UNITE!!!
Not a bad movie. Not as good as T2, which has become one of a handful of DVD's often used to demonstrate home theater systems. Feminists cover your eyes, but I found the woman villain ruined it for me. A little blond in a tight red suit. OK, so in reality it's a shape-shifting killer from the future. But it still looks some chick in a red suit, and though I appreciate the nod to feminists everywhere, it greatly took away from the movie. I mean, why stop there? Why not have the shape-shifter take ... Read More
Rating: - Bozo, savior of the Humanity
Bozo is chased because his mission is still to become the head resistant of a lost humanity engaged in a terrific fight against the machines. Bozo does not read nor write. He is adolescent, but he knows how to drive. With his first hand he holds the steering wheel, another seeks a weapon, with the third, he defends himself, the fourth shuts up his future (who does not know) wife and finally, with his fifth, he passes the speeds. He dramatically lacks a sixth hand to wipe his nose, since the action ... Read More
Rating: - The best terminator movie out of all of them
Nick Stahl's portrayal of John Connor in my opinion defined the character, and Claire Danes was also excellent in the movie as his soon-to-be wife. Of all the Terminator movies, i felt that this movie devoted more time to character development and story building than the prior films, which is good because the series has a philosophical component which a lot of people for some reason overlook. Although the movies are best known as action films, they are also the story of mankind's savior- a person who ... Read More
Rating: - OK action film let down by an overall air of familiarity
"T3 - Rise of The Machines" is a decent entry in the big, dumb action (BDA) movie genre. Nick Stahl adds depth to the role of John Connor - future leader of the resistance and Claire Daines is pretty good as his love interest Catherine Brewster but Governor Schwartzenegger's acting has not improved - even playing a robot (the "good" termininator) - and Kristina Loken makes a memorable if rather one-note "bad" terminator. The film has all the stunning special effects and spectacular stunts you would expect ... Read More
Rating: - A female terminator???
LOVED IT!!!!!!!!
She's cold, she's bad, she's was the BEST choice for this role.
She's beautiful, but she plays the part soooooo well.
I liked the part when she's sitting on the bed and the fiancé wakes up, she turns around and looks at him............CREEPY!!!!!!
I don't know how she made that one simple move look so robotic and icy, but she did.
A brilliant story, and the ending just totally caught me by surprise and I think a few other people too.
There were more than ... Read More
