An amazing soundtrack to go with an amazing film. Einaudi succeeds in stirring happiness, joy, sorrow, fear, and unease in this wonderful soundtrack, all emotions key to the story. A truly haunting yet beautiful score.

If you enjoyed the mini-series, then you hopefully loved the music that went with it. If you haven't seen the mini-series, I can still recommend this CD; the music is particularly lovely and moving.

and I love it! This CD soundtrack is very slow, dark and mysterious just like the Russians themselves (Armenian too).
I'm not a big fan of the piano as I find it to be a very unforgiving instrument. But when Einaudi's playing is coupled with the cello and other strings it sounds wonderful!

Absolutely wonderful. Having been impressed with the tv series I did a first for me, I bought the soundtrack which had perfectly complemented the images on screen. The sounds are many and varied from the haunting opening track 'Zhivago' with it's simple piano/violin? theme to what sounds like traditional Russian singing.
The mood definitely errs towards sombre and the theme first presented in 'Zhivago' and revisited throughout the album is real 'lump in the throat' material.
