I've had the HP7110 since June of 2003 and it has been a pretty good machine. I've mainly done black and white printing and occasional scanning. I've used the fax feature heavily but don't print many photos because of the high costs. I replaced the print heads last year, which was very expensive, and I just figured out two of the heads need to be replaced again. Have had this machine for a while, been good to me. I am sure there are better ones out there, but it was priced right for an all in one that included fax.
Pros- Price, Easy to use/ set-up, HP Brand reliability and support (have not needed any)
Cons: Seperate print heads from ink, seems to use ink fairly quickly, print heads are $30 to replace. (just now replacing first one, 3 yrs.)
Rating:  - The last HP product I will buy
A total waste of money. My 7110 suddenly indicated a technical problem just one week after the warranty ran out. The manual doesn't tell you what the indicated fault codes mean, so you have to call their tech service and PAY for an answer. In my case it was "buy new print heads." Even though I was using official HP products (ink and print heads) the little micro chips on the print heads erroneously indicated that they weren't official HP products and must be replaced (they don't want you to be able ... Rating: - Lifetime HP customer, DISAPPOINTED
This is my 3rd printer in about 15 years. All have been HP.
The first two worked perfectly, never had any problems. Only reason for upgrade was new features (copy, scan, fax).
This one worked great for many months.
Then, I got horizontal lines in my color prints. Eventually HP sent a new machine and printheads and problem resolved.
A few months later, same problem. Now that it's over a year old, no help from HP.

Rating: - Starts off great then DOWNHILL!!
I had such great expectations for this machine. It had everything I needed. Sadly, after some very light usage, the colors on the printer and copier went straight into Hell!! The printer is now pure garabage and service from tech support runs out fast and you are stuck with a useless machine. The self-diagonistics are worthless.
Stay away from this machine. Anyway, it has been discontinued and replaced with the HP 7310 and 7410. They share the same problems and I will alert buyers to this ... Read More
