Watch the calamity unfold as designers clash with carpenters, teams pursue their own agendas and homeowners dealwith disappointment. Plus, learn how-to (and how-not-to) do some designing of your own.
Short Description:
In the first episode, romance and warmth are on the minds of two Maryland couples. But will designer Doug Wilson's "Strip Stripe" bedroom and designer Genevieve Gorder's romantic Asian theme put them in the mood for love, or leave themfeeling cold? Then in Seattle, nothing seems to be going right for designers Laurie Smith and Vern Yip. Laurie's team is convinced she's chosen the wrong colors, Vern catches carpenter Ty Pennington sleeping on the job, and homeowners see red when their bedroom doesn't turn out the way they had hoped.

Rating: out of 5 stars - Rather Disappointed
The DVD only had two shows and the "Bonus material" was only some clips of other people that hated their rooms. I was hoping for interviews, details, etc. not just clips of other shows.

Rating: out of 5 stars - not enough train wrecks
One of my favorite things about the early Trading Spaces, is how the expert designers would completely ignore the requests of the decoratees. (Please keep the carpet, it is only a year old. The decorator, "The carpet must go.") I hoped to see more of those in clips, like a highlights reel. This was not the case. Rating: out of 5 stars - my wife like this dvd.
But I no like so much. Is too much the same thing.

Rating: out of 5 stars - For all of us who wondered!
We love Paige Davis and we love the designers, but sometimes we don't love what they do, and wonder how those homeowners can be so poised (with the exception of a few whose names we all know) in the face of Decor ala Disaster. Even if you've seen the episodes, this one is still fun to watch....to see what happened later!

Rating: out of 5 stars - More like "They had a tepid reaction!"
Thank goodness we checked this out from the library. We'd never seen Trading Spaces, but I was curious to see what all the fuss was about. Surely the extremely negative reactions that the cover blurb seemed to promise would provide us with the best encapsulation of the appeal of this show, right? WRONG. Nobody bursts into tears, nobody retches and runs from the room with their hand over their mouth, nobody threatens to firebomb their neighbors' homes in retaliation, nobody clenches their fists, ...
