This is a wonderfully charming CD! Fun background music for cocktails or humming along with at work. Even more fun on car trips. You will not be disappointed with this! This CD will make you want to order the DVD! Who knew these women could sing like this! WOW. After writing this review I've got to cue it up on my iPod!
Rating: - The next cult movie
As this little gem of a comedy unraveled on the big screen where I first viewed it, I couldn't help thinking this would be the replacement for "Rocky Horror" with audience participatory parts defined.
Corny jokes were rewarded by enthusiastic laughter and ohhs and ahhs from the audience in all the appropriate places. Simple, silly, slapstick gags well placed were enhanced by the much maligned but altogether fabulous Tony-award winning music of dinner theaters everywhere.

Rating:  - See The Movie - Ponder The Soundtrack
"Connie and Carla" is one heck of a funny movie and the music skits are hilarious! These two women actually can harmonize and its fun to watch (and hear) them. However, when listening without the film, the songs sound flat. There's energy there, but without the visuals, nothing really happens. This just becomes a novelty album that you can describe to your friends, but they won't get it unless they see the film. So. Go see the film.

What was I thinking when I paid out good money for this mess of a dvd? I should have read these reviews first. Those who dislike this cd are completely correct...it is awful. But why then did so many, including me, enjoy the movie and the music in it? Because of the actors, the settings, the script and the over the top costumes ..all that combined with the music made a good on screen presentation, but with only the music (and useless dialogue) on the cd, it is a lost cause...you realize why Connie ... I have just watched "Connie and Carla" and it's really quite a funny movie. Both Toni Collette and Nia Vardolos have excellent comic timing and David Duchovny (though like a fish out of the X-Files water) was drool-able. But the steal of the show must be the soundtrack - great show tunes and harmonies between the two lead actresses at many moments. I just hope it'd be released soon in the Lion City.
