Rating: - Overheat is the main problem
I have been using this model for a few years. It worked fine for the first year, then it started acting up. It shut itself down many times because of the overheat. Go for HP, period!
Rating: - Disappointed
Toshiba did not create this model well. I agree with the other customers who have had problems with the power pack connection. I constantly have to play with the plug or turn off my computer because it's not charging although I am plugged into an outlet. I have also had a problem with it overheating. I use a laptop holder, which seems to have worked because the computer is not shutting down when it gets hot; and it still does get hot, but air is circulating under the computer while on my lap. ... Rating: - Many repairs made and many more needed
I have this lap tap and have had it for approximately 2 yrs this January. I have had my mother board go bad. Twice. The first one completely died after 2 wks and Toshiba sent me a new computer. The 2nd one they repaired it when it went bad 6 months later. My computer about 8 months after I bought it started over heating and freezing up with a blue screen and shutting down. Toshiba fixed both. 6 months later it is overheating agian. The fan on these go bad. I have had to have my unit cleaned several ... Read More
Rating: - Absolutely horrible laptop
1. About after 8 months after I bought this laptop, it started overheating and it shuts itself off. Even after buying external fans/cooling pads, it did not solve the issue. It gets so hot, it can burn your lap!
2. Now after 1.8 yrs, battery power connector does not make good connection and does not charge the battery.
3. Cooling fans make horrible noise and are annoying.
This is a absolute horrible laptop. Do NOT buy.
Rating: - BEWARE
I have purchased the Toshiba A75-213 with the same processor as this one. It is constantly (within 1-3 minutes of use) shutting down completely. It overheats. There are several*** CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS*** over this and other problems with their more powerful notebooks. The computer is completely unusable. If it ever was fixed, the heat problem has shortened the life of other components. The computer's lifespan is negligable.
