Spiff up your home office with an affordable, space-saving upgrade: Proview's PL482s flat-panel LCD monitor. Delivering adequate resolution (1,024 x 768 for both PC and Mac), a 250:1 contrast ratio, and 200 nits of brightness, the TFT LCD's images are crisp, clear, and bright enough use in everyday lighting conditions. Its stereo front-panel speakers are driven by 2 watts per channel, ample for general computer use.
LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors, including general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (minimal screen flickering and radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch "flyback" noise, an issue with CRT monitors), accurate image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference from, say, speakers), long screen life, space savings, and light weight for easy positioning.
The screen offers a single standard RGB monitor input (15-pin D-Sub) and convenient onscreen controls for everything from brightness, horizontal/vertical phase and sizing, and color temperature to advanced features like manual pivot, auto adjust, and display mode. The active-matrix PL482s is configured in a standard, 4:3 aspect ratio.

This monitor is great. It is lightweight and has a small footprint with the speakers within the front panel. The speakers also work better than the HP speakers our original monitor came with. (...) You cannot find a flat panel monitor that works this well for such a great price.

My wife loves this monitor, which replace her Sony 17" CRT. The screen size is just slightly smaller. Great for the price!

I needed a smaller monitor with a small "footprint" for a child's desk and purchased this one mainly for the price.
The contrast and brightness are just fine for average use. This monitor is extremely light weight, but seems sturdy. The casing and buttons are overall reasonably good quality.
I wouldn't recommend this monitor for avid computer users, just not "crisp" enough if you are looking at the computer for many hours - but for all other general purposes where you ... Read More

Excellent quality for the price. Picture & sound is of good quality & the speakers are built in which is a plus if you need to free up space on your desk. I own 2 Proview LCD Monitors and have been very pleased.
