Editorial Review: The SC-PM91D not only provides high-quality audio playback, but also progressive scan DVD playback. Connect this micro system to a TV in the den or office and enjoy your own personal theater.Have a movie marathon or keep the music going for hours with the built-in 5 DVD/CD changer. Jump quickly from disc to disc or use the random play feature to add some variety. Play DVD-Audio discs, audio CDs, CD-R/RW2 discs, or load up hundreds of MP3s for even longer playing time. The music doesn't have to end when all your CDs are played out. Pop a couple tapes into the feather-touch cassette deck or tune into your favorite station with the digital synthesizer FM/AM tuner. Save up to 30 of your favorite stations using the preset memory and call them up later. When MP3s and movie soundtracks are created, higher frequencies are lost due to the limited frequency response of compressed digital audio. Most of these frequencies can't be heard by human ears, but their presence conveys subtle nuances. When they're missing in a digital recording, it doesn't quite sound the same as the live performance. Panasonic's multi re-master feature examines the audio signal and helps compensate for these lost frequencies, providing sound quality closer to the original performance.Park yourself in a comfortable chair and stay there thanks to the included full function remote control. The large, bright display makes it easy to see disc and track info from a distance.

Rating: - Doesn't Exist
I never received this product and therefore have nothing to say about it. Some sort of inventory mix-up and now the product seems to be unavailable.
Rating: - Good sound, not so good interface
I wanted to get a compact system with good sound quality and CD/DVD/tape support. In those areas this system is very good at its price. I have not tested the DVD player yet so I cannot comment on that. I have compared the sound quality to my previous system and it is good enough for me. However I am disappointed with the interface. The cons:
- The cassette deck does not have auto-reverse. I have some music only on audio cassettes and it is a hassle to have to change the side. I don't think ... Read More
Rating: - Brilliant Sound...
This little stereo has brilliant sound. I bought it for the looks and for the sound quality that reviewers were citing but mostly for the fact that it was a 3 way bass-reflex speaker unit whereas the competitors only offer 2 way speaker units.
The sound from this system is fantastic, bold and clear. Very very impressed.
Rating: - One word. Watch for the exclamation marks.
Thanks to the reviews posted here, especially the comments from Zoolha (NJ USA), we purchased the SC-PM91D yesterday.
To say we are blown away with the sound quality is, if anything, understatement. Wow!!
If you'd like an idea of where I'm coming from, the Tivoli Model Two with its companion CD player was the prime contender. At over 600-dollars Cdn., though, it turned out to be twice the price of the Panasonic, which ultimately was a deal-breaker. Back to the drawing board.

Rating: - sounds clear to me
I purchased this item cause I didn't want the bulk of the big stereo system or even the home theather system. I was very please to find this because of the great sound and you can place multiple cd's. Also, my wife and I started using it as a mini home theater system and it sounds great.
