Editorial Review: The small and feather-light stylish design is only one of the 1000 Series' best features! At a svelte 3.6 lbs. this little dynamo with its high resolution AveraBrite widescreen is light on the eyes, the backpack or briefcase, and most importantly the wallet. Just as you would expect from any AVERATEC notebook, it is also loaded with multimedia and connectivity features. A built-in high-speed wireless LAN with dual-antenna allows for super fast Internet multimedia streaming and downloading. A FireWire Port makes digital video recording right onto your notebook possible and the combination DVD+CD-RW allows you to transfer music, photos and other multimedia from your portable media and burn them to a CD, or watch your favorite DVD on the vivid 10.6" wide XGA screen.

Rating: - Good Laptop in good price
Beautiful design with tiny real "notebook" size. If we can upgrade to 1 GB RAM, I will say this is an excellent notebook for people on the go!
Rating: - Hot to the point of burning finger tips
Its a cute looking computer. Light and a perfect size. BUT, it gets so hot that I basically can not use it after about half an hour. The cursor area is untoucahble. Even typing is uncomfortble and unplesant because of the heat and the high temperature of the keyboard.
I wish I had bought it at Costco so I can take it back but unfortunately I bought here from Amazon and dont think it is returnable. Dont buy it.
Rating: - Very nice ultracompact notebook
I bought this notebook to use while travelling since I take lots of digital photos and need somewhere to store them.
Its look is very stylish with an all-white interior with a burgundy cover. The keyboard is compact, so if you have big hands you might find it uncomfortable for typing. The keyboard quality is nice but since I'm used to the Thinkpad keyboard, I find it a bit stiff while typing.
My biggest complaint with this notebook is the quality of the touchpad buttons. ... Read More

I bought this for my job. I am a road warrior and have to use my notebook on each appointment. I have a Dell 15.4" at home that I love, but it got to heavy for me in and out of the car. So this 10.6" is absolutely perfect. It's considerably faster than my Dell, which is a Pentium M also. My husband said it's because it doesn't have that Centrino mobile technology. I don't know and personally I don't care. As long as it does the job, and it does. The only thing is that the words are soooo small ... Read More

I bought a similar model a while ago and I am surprised by the number of positive reviews and the high score that this item received. Perhaps they were predominantly written just after purchase. At that time, my feelings were warm as well, albeit not as warm as the laptop itself after a few minutes of use. After one year of not-too-intensive use, I am unhappy. The batteries died out almost instantly. When my students saw me coming with it to give a lecture, they immediately started asking questions about ... Read More
