The Basics
- Hard Drive: The 60 GB hard drive (4200 RPM) is becoming the average size for notebook PCs, providing enough capacity for storing documents, digital media files, and productivity software.
- Processor: A lower-end cousin to AMD's XP processor line, the 1.8 GHz AMD Sempron 3000+ found in this notebook is compatible in speed with Intel's 2.4 GHz Celeron processor. It's speedy enough for everyday computing needs and running office productivity software, but won't be quite enough for higher-end video editing or 3D gaming. This processor features AMD's Cool'n'Quiet Technology, which conserves power while also keeping the notebook's decibels to a minimum. It also features up to a 1600 MHz front-side bus (FSB) and a 128 KB L2 cache. (An L2, or secondary, cache temporarily stores data; and a larger L2 cache can help speed up your system's performance.)
- Memory: The 512 MB of built-in memory (DDR SDRAM) is fine for basic productivity and multimedia software, and it offers what's becoming an average RAM speed (333 MHz). It has two memory slots in total, with a maximum memory expansion up to 1 GB (2 x 512 MB), which is a bit small in comparison to other notebooks in this line.
- CD/DVD Drive: Offering the latest in DVD writing technology, this multiformat DVD/CD drive is compatible with both DVD+ and DVD- disc formats as well as dual-layer (DL) DVD+R discs, which can store up to 8.5 GB of data. It features 16x DVD+R, 8x DVD-R, 4x DVD+/-RW, 2.4x DVD+R DL, 16x DVD-ROM, 40x CDR, 24x CD-RW, and 40x CD-ROM ROM speeds.

Screen, Graphics and Sound
This notebook features a 15-inch XGA TFT Brightview display (1024 x 768-pixel resolution), which provides improved viewing in direct sunlight. I believe in dedicated video memory. This machine belongs to my brother and as a computer techie, I got to support it for him for I'm guessing four years now. He has been using it with a wired network as a desktop replacement. No problems except the wired network adapter failed after all this time. I went to switch to the wireless network and it doesn't work. Research shows it is supposed to have a wifi adapter built it, but the on-off switch does nothing and there is not "on" light as depicted ... Read More

I bought this lap top on black Friday 05 while out shopping for the ones advertised on sale. Lucky for me they were sold out otherwise I may not have gotten this one. I love it and have no complaints about it and the picture is crystal clear. I bought a small carrier with wheels and carry it everywhere I go. I use it everyday since I bought it and never go on my desk top anymore. Very easy to use and the keyboard set up is great. Compared to others the price I feel is also good.

I've had one of these ze2315us for a couple of months now. I've always been an AMD fan, and this laptop does not fail my expectations. I'm also a fan of ATI products, and the video card in this model delivers more than what I expected. 512MB RAM, and sharing 128MB of it with the video card is rather limiting. To many confusing instructions. Why can't the instructions just say do this this and this. I'm a novice when it comes to computers, so I just need simple instruction. To many cd's that don't say you must load or you don't need to. The one time I called the help desk, the guy, Antonio acted like he couldn't wait to get me off the phone. Also acted like I wasn't very smart. I just needed to get going in the right direction. I just needed a little help. The computer, I love it.
