To install the adapter, you simply plug it into any available USB port. (It's compatible with both USB 1.1 and 2.0 ports, but 2.0 will yield the fastest speeds.) You can plug it directly into your PC, or you can use the included USB extension cord to put the adapter anywhere you'd like, up to five feet away.
Because the adapter gets its power through the USB connection, no power cord is necessary. The included setup wizard walks you through configuring the adapter to your wireless network settings, step by step. Just bought this to work with Linksys G router (which I bought to replace a constantly failing Belkin N1 router). The Linksys router was easy to set up - works well with a wired Vista desktop and a wireless XP laptop. However, when I connected this Linksys USB adapter to a desktop in our garage, I get a 'Limited or no connectivity' message. Too far away, you say? This equipment was very easy to use/install -- especially for one who is not all that computer savvy. And it saved me from having to have a new phone jack installed. Definitely worth it and reasonably priced.

I'm still trying how to figure this thing out. My laptop wont recognize it even though it's hooked up and the signal strenth is good. I had so many problems with this.
