Rating: - Military -- DON'T BUY SONY!
I've loved my Sony Vaio, but trying to buy a new one has been awful. Sony won't allow military with an APO address to buy things, EVEN IF IT'S BEING SHIPPED WITHIN THE US!
Military (and diplomats) overseas use the US Postal System with a US address under the APO/FPO system. Normal postage, counts as a US address for taxes, for residence, for mail... for just about anything. Sony won't mail to APOs. Okay, so many electronics folks won't do that; no problem, I'll have it mailed to ... Read More
Rating: - A Real Winner
Because space is limited in an apartment, I've always used a laptop at home in place of the desktop I have at the office. Since I am not especially technically savvy, I look for user-friendliness and good graphics. A friend has a Sony Vaio, so I was able to test drive his and found it offered most of the advantages I was looking for. It's fast, easy to use, and the 17" screen is crisp and incredibly bright. The camera was an unexpected bonus, which I may get around to using eventually, and the ... Read More
Rating: - Don't buy this Vaio
Unless you do not want any support that approaches anything remotely reasonable.
My family have purchased Sony products (without even considering other brands) for 3 generations. But the month I decided no more. The arrogance and incompetence of Sony is beyond what I can deal with.
I could honestly write a book on my dealings with Sony over the past few years regarding Vaio support.
But I'm pressed for time so I will cut to the final nail in the coffin that have ... Read More
Rating: - Simply awesome.
I have owned multiple laptops over the years and this is by the far the best. This Laptop is a powerhouse, starting with its 17" screen which makes any web page, video, or game look fantastic. The finger print sensor makes logging onto the computer and websites so much easier than having to type your passwords in. We played with this for an hour trying to get it to log in with somebody else's fingerprint but it never did. The fan does run alot but I hardly notice it, but it does push alot of heat out ... Rating: - I love this notebook!
I currently own 3 laptops (wife, work and kids) and sold recently my VAIO PCG-K23. This laptop is by far the best that I have ever owned. I work in the same office space with the coleague that I sold my K23 and we don't hear the fan at all. It is really very quiet. In fact is as quiet as the other laptop. It takes a lot of time to boot up but not as long as others that I had. Depends on all the software that you have.
The screen quality is out of this world and I own a 59" Sony HD TV. I love the ... Read More
