This is a very good action/adventure game for the PSP. It is one of the few actions games that is not a shooter, although there is quite a bit of gun play at times.
It took me quite awhile to play the entire game, which is good. There is quite a bit there. Excellent graphics, very good story. The biggest knock would be the controls. Rating: - Awkward controls mar gameplay
I'm writing this review with the hope that the makers of the game will fix the future releases of this franchise. As a big fan of the Syphon Filter series, I've always found the controls on the Tomb Raider series to be very awkward compared to Syphon Filter. The "camera" does not automatically follow Lara making it difficult to line up precise jumps. It's also very difficult to get Lara to face the direction you want. I will be the first to admit that I rely heavily on Video Game websites to find out what games are good and what games aren't that good. This game received negative press on most of those websites and so I was hesitant to play it. A friend let me play it and I found it very enjoyable. Most of the reviews I have read complain that the controls are awkward compared to the consoles but of course they are going to be different, you are playing a PSP not a PS2 or Xbox with two analog sticks.
