Editorial Review: Funnyman Martin Lawrence steps back into the latex fatsuit for Big Momma's House 2, the sequel to one of Lawrence's biggest hits. Malcolm Turner (Lawrence, Bad Boys, Rebound) goes undercover, turning his Big Momma disguise into a nanny for a computer company executive who may be concocting a means to hack into military databases. But that's just a pretense to get Big Momma coping with a perfectionist mom and her three kids, who are all dysfunctional in cute and easily resolved ways. Naturally, Big Momma dispenses life lessons and catches the crooks while Lawrence does his best to milk his fat drag act for cheap laughs. Unfortunately, those cheap laughs never quite pay off; the script is a wastebasket of cliches and clumsy set-ups for gags that never seem worth the effort. The movie desperately wants to appeal to women with cute kids while luring men with a spa visit featuring scantily clad Victoria's Secret models. Even Lawrence's fans will find themselves snoozing through this one. --Bret Fetzer

Rating: - Funnier than Friday!! 4.4 stars.
Martin Lawrence (or His funny alter-ego) Big Momma entertains...and it entertains like Nobody's business! XD
I started watching it at like 6:30 A.M. and was like - OK. What movie is this? Martin? Nia Long?! It took Me about 3 minutes to get it.
But I truly loved this. I didn't expect to be half as entertained as I was. But this s.h.i.t was funnier than funny! It even surpassed Friday in bringing the funny! Maybe that's cause We've all seen that one to Death??

Rating: - A new low
Martin Lawrence should be embarrassed. If this piece of garbage parading as a movie was intended for pre-teens, and teens he should be apologizing to parents nationwide. Granted this was a movie, but what kind of message is he sending out there to kids, that first you won't get hurt anytime you jump face first from the top of shelves, a bunk bed, etc... But what really bothered me was the feeding of the tequila to a small dog. In real life, that dog wouldn't be peppy and happy....he would be dead ... Read More
Rating: - oh Lord this was funny!
i watched this last night at a friend's house. i never watched the first one, but watching this is making me get the 1st and 2nd. my pal and i couldn't stop laughing. it was funny! but i did find nia long's acting boring, untalented, and uninspiring; i don't think she's a good comedic actress or knows how to be funny. she doesn't have comedic timing. she probably goes better in dramatic movies. yes, this is not trying to win an oscar, yes, the actors acting are weak and unbelievable (are they supposed ...
