It's the perfect accessory for bedrooms, smallish apartments, basements, and any other space where a full-size speaker system is pure overkill.
The On Stage II incorporates Apple's universal iPod dock adapter, which works with most docking versions of the iPod, including the iPod video 5G and 5.5G and the iPod nano 1G and 2G. Simply slide your iPod into the dock and you're set--no additional cords to connect or adapters to fuss with. As an added convenience, the On Stage II also offers an auxiliary input for connecting a variety of other portable audio devices, including the iPod shuffle, personal MP3 and CD players, desktop and laptop computers (all platforms), and satellite radio receivers. As long as your portable audio device has a 3.5 mm stereo mini-jack connection, you can play the audio through your On Stage II speaker.
As a bonus, the On Stage II comes with a wireless remote control, giving you the freedom to enjoy your music from across the room or in another room--up to 50 feet away (including through walls). The system itself, meanwhile, includes easy-to-use touch controls for the volume and mute, and even remembers your last volume setting after it shuts down. sounds great for it's size, not a ton of bass but again pretty good for the size.
I put this in the middle of my house and it fills the whole place with nice clear sound.

I've been using this speaker for a couple months now and it looks great and sounds great. I like that it's not larger than necessary. It fits well on my tv stand. I haven't used it outside, but for in my home, I love it. The remote works very well, even if it's not pointed directly at the unit. I plan on purchasing another for my bedroom. As long as you aren't planning on using it for a party of 200 people in a huge room, it's a great buy!

First of all I'm a big time JBL fan. I recently replaced all my car speakers with JBL and just love them.
Coming back to the "JBL On Stage II"... this is a nice little product. Wanted something to actually hook my ipod into after getting back from work to charge it. The unit is simple to setup and I did not find the adapter too bulky. It comes with an remote and has a nice feature to lock it if you are not using the remote.

We bought this speaker docking system for our son's room - we wanted something with good sound but also something that was small and stylish. This fit's the bill - The speakers sound much better than other system's within the price range.
