This slimline model is powered by the 2.0 GHz Athlon 64 3500+ processor, which is ready to take on the 64-bit applications of tomorrow. You can easily burn your home video productions to DVD for friends and family with the dual-layer, multi-format LightScribe DVD/CD burner, which enables you to store up to 8.5 GB of data on a DL disc. The Basics
- Hard Drive: The spacious 200 GB Serial ATA (SATA) hard drive (7200 RPM) offers a wealth of storage space, perfect for storing a vast multimedia collection or for editing digital video. This SATA hard drive also quickens the pace with a higher speed transfer of data--akin to FireWire and USB 2.0.
- Processor: AMD's Athlon 64 3500+ processor is built for tomorrow's 64-bit applications, which will require a processor with significant power. This 2.0 GHz processor offers a system bus with speeds up to a blazing 2000 MT/s (mega transfers per second) and 512 KB L2 cache. (An L2, or secondary, cache temporarily stores data; and a larger L2 cache can help speed up your system's performance.) - Memory: The 512 MB of installed RAM (PC4200, 2 x 256 MB, 533 MHz) is enough to get you started, but you'll want to add more RAM to handle today's demanding multimedia and productivity suites. Unfortunately, due to this PC's compact size, this desktop only expands to 1 GB maximum RAM capacity (2 x 512 MB).

Be Careful. I have the earlier version of this Slimline, s7220n. Mine developed an overheating power supply when creating DVDs. It only has a 108 watt power supply, which is rather low for all the devices attached. I did a google search and found many others who had similar problems. HP would not acknowledge a problem existed. Had to buy a new power supply from them.

This computer has been working out great since I bought it about 3 months ago. With the coax hookup in the back my monitor will double as a TV and it even comes with a remote. The card readers located on the front are very convenient as is the USB port on the front. There are 4 more USB ports located on the back which is way more than I need right now but it's good to know that when I do need them they will be there. It has room for 2GB RAM which is nice. I bought this little desktop for my two boys at Christmastime this past year and have to say I'm entirely impressed with it.
