The photo-puppetry style of animation used to create the Nick Jr. series Wonder Pets! isn't the only thing special about the show, as any mom who's made the acquaintance of Ming-Ming Duckling, Linny the Guinea Pig, and Turtle Tuck will confirm faster than her fidgety 4-year-old can insist on a bigger-kid show. Beyond the gently imparted messages about teamwork and compassion, what kicks the show up to Dora and Diego levels of likeability is its music. Each episode is a mini operetta--listen past the preschool voices of the crusading main characters, and you'll hear a 10-member live orchestra lending the proceedings a serious-music-lover's vibe; for moms who weren't completely sold on the merits of intro to Mozart discs from series such as Baby Einstein, this represents another chance at cultivating appreciative ears. The lyrics of the sweet-natured songs, which come straight from the tube, help too: "We'll come to set you free/So you can pee!" the Pets squeal delightedly at a pent-up puppy on "Wee-Wee, Pee-Pee, Tinkle." I leave this CD in the car. When I play it and look at the rear view mirror, all I see is a huge smile on my 15 month old son's face. Seeing a smiles and giggles make traffic not bad at all. Mommy's favorites are Tickle the whale and the Hermit crab from Mexico.
Rating: - The cutest kids CD ever?
I have to say, I am quite smitten by the Wonderpets. Not only is the show educational, it is immensely entertaining for adults and children alike, and quite often borders on the absurd. My son's favorite episode is where they go to rescue a cow stuck up a tree in Oklahoma. My favorite is the one where Ming Ming (the duckling, of course) decides to go solo, drops a roaring showtune to assert her independence and promptly gets stuck in some tree sap.

THIS WAS A CHRISTMAS GIFT FOR MY 3 YR OLD GRANDDAUGHTER.
SHE WAS SO HAPPY WHEN SHE OPENED THIS GIFT, THAT SHE WAS PRETTY MUCH FINISHED WITH OPENING ANYTHING ELSE! SO YOU MIGHT SAY IT WAS A HUGE HIT!
I HAVE HEARD PARTS OF THE CD AND IT'S ADORABLE.

My 18 month old loves this cd! We listen to it in the car everyday. I highly recommend this cd, especially if your children enjoy the show.
Rating:  - Do you want your kid to have a speech impediment?
This product is wonderful in almost every regard: cute, harmless, has animals. Sadly, the good is overshadowed by the duck character's "cute" speech impediment! My four year old, who once spoke beautifully, hasn't pronounced his r's since he watched this over a month ago! I love the show, my kid loves the show, but as a parent, I already have enough problems! We won't be watching this again.
