Editorial Review:Documentarian Carla Garapedian traces the history of modern-day genocide - and genocide denial - from the fertile "Holy Mountains" of Anatolia to the current atrocities in Darfur. The documentary is as shattering as it is powerful, which includes live performance footage and interviews with System of a Down, the multi-platinum, Grammy Award-winning rock band, all of whose members are of Armenian descent. The film is laced with seven of the band's songs from "Holy Mountains" to "P.L.U.C.K." to the #1 hit "B.Y.O.B." that illuminate the band's views on political and social issues Garapedian (the acclaimed director/producer of such documentaries as "Lifting the Veil," and "Children of the Secret State") weaves an intricate tapestry of historical footage, current day interviews of survivors who witnessed the Ottoman Turks genocide against those of Armenian decent in 1915, their relatives, concert footage, and even footage of a confronted Dennis Hastert in the Capital Rotunda! Garapedian's documentary shows without ambivalence that until we truly recognize our past, our history is doomed to repeat itself.

I saw this film on cable and I thought it was wonderful. I would like to show it to some friends but the release date for the DVD keeps getting pushed back please let us share this important documentary.
Rating: - Why the hold up?
I saw this film @ webster place in chicago. It only played for one week. It was an amazing film that if anything might have pulled a couple punches. I applaud Garapedian and the boys of SOAD for exhibiting such an amazing piece of work. However, I am a bit worried about the state of this dvd. It had a release date scheduled in June. Now it is September and I can only fear someone's political, historical "beliefs" are to blame. It is past the point of "hey the dvd had some technical issues". ... Read More
Rating: - denial
turkish people in in denial about the amenian and pontian gencides they should fess up to what they did between the year of 1915-1923
Rating: - THE Armenian genocide film that best exposes the deniers (including the US government).
Funny thing. This DVD is scheduled for release in the US and Canada on June 26. The Amazon Canada site is clear and definite about the details, but the Amazon US site has obscured all concrete info. "Release date to be announced: The release date for this DVD has not been finalized." Check out the different announcements. Why the disparity? Which is it?
